Properties

Reparil Gel N is a special formulation in an alcoholic vehicle and has a triple action: it reduces swelling, inhibits inflammation and relieves pain.
Presented in a form which enables it to pass through the skin, aescin prevents accumulation of water in the tissues and reduces local tissue swelling. Local swellings, which often cause sensations of heaviness and painful tension, are rapidly relieved. Inflammatory states are effectively corrected.
The salicylic acid compound intensifies the anti-inflammatory effect and has a particularly deep-acting effect against pain.

Reparil Gel N has the following additional advantages:
Reparil Gel N is transparent and penetrates rapidly and completely into the affected tissues.

Reparil Gel N is non-greasy and is notably clean and pleasant to use .

Reparil Gel N cools the painful area, soothes and protects the skin and is outstandingly well tolerated even by sensitive skin areas.

What is aescin?

Aescin is the active ingredient of Reparil, and is extracted from horse chestnut seeds (Aesculus hippocastanum). Extracts of horse chestnut have long been used in folk medicine for the treatment of vein disorders and haemorrhoids. Scientific research began towards the end of the nineteenth century. Aescin acts mainly by preventing or reducing swelling, by blocking inflammation and also by heightening venous tone.

When can Reparil be employed?

Reparil can in general be employed for all painful conditions of the locomotor system. Among these are blunt injuries, sprains, contusions, strains, torn muscles, inflammation of tendon sheaths, varicose veins, swollen legs, etc.

Can a product containing an active substance of plant origin really be of lasting help in serious injuries and inflammatory conditions?

Numerous large-scale clinical trials have provided evidence that Reparil, because of its combination of active ingredients, is clearly superior to other remedies. Its action is rapid and long-lasting, it promotes regenerative activity and thereby exercises a healing effect.

What about adverse effects?

In all trials Reparil Gel N was assessed as extremely well tolerated. In occasional cases, there may be some drying of the skin and scaling after prolonged treatment. Fatty acids are included in the formulation to protect the skin.

Aescin DEAS gels have been used by millions of patients for more than 20 years. Cases of contact allergy are extremely rare (in less than 0.01% of cases).

There has never been any evidence of systemic side effects. This implies that aescin remains at the site where it is applied, and is broken down locally.
