Pain Killers And Their Side Effects

Pain killers are analgesics that are developed to relieve body pains such as headache, muscle and joint pains. These drugs block the pain receptors that send pain signals to the brain through neurotransmitters. Paracetamol, aspirin, morphine, Tylenol are some of analgesics.
Pain killers often live up to the promises and offer pain relief immediately. However, taking painkillers over prolonged period of time ends up with various health problems. . Many people do not know the fact that pain killers in addition to attack the pain they inhibit the body’s natural defense mechanism against illness.

Acetaminophen is a common component in most of the pain killers and this cause damage to the liver. Stomach bleeding is another severe side effect of pain killers that is caused by a non steroid anti inflammatory drugs.
Side effects of pain killers like ibuprofen side effects include kidney damage, liver damage, ulcer, drop in blood pressure, allergic reactions etc. Constipation is the most common side effect of painkillers. Using aspirin, ibuprofen side effects include gastrointestinal bleeding.
Painkiller addiction is persistent worldwide owing to the numbing and sedative effects of the pain killers. There are various reasons for growing pain killer addiction. First of all pain killers are easily available and just by arranging doctor’s prescription, one can get them easily. These are not lethal drugs and so it cannot be banned. They are cheap.
It is important follow the advice of the doctor before taking these drugs. Eating foods that are high in fiber and drinking lot of water helps to avoid constipation. It is wise to take natural remedies to alleviate pain in order to avoid side effects of pain killers.
